Much is being written about the retirement of Carlsbad’s mayor, Bud Lewis, and the men campaigning to replace him, but I would like everyone to know about a breath of fresh air who is running for a seat on the Carlsbad City Council. Her name is Farrah Douglas and, although you may not have heard about her in the past, now is the time.

Farrah Douglas is an immigrant from Iran coming to this country with her American husband when they could see that true liberty and freedom were fast becoming a thing of the past in that country.

This is why she is such a dedicated citizen who truly appreciates all that this country has to offer, and she has made the most of it. Now she wants to be a part of making sure that Carlsbad continues to be the wonderful place to live in that it always has been.

Farrah Douglas is well qualified to be a council member. Being the owner and CEO of her own company, she was a member of the Chamber of Commerce for several years and is currently the chairwoman of this city’s Planning Commission.

I hope you will give her your vote in November, and you will find out just what a breath of fresh air she will bring to Carlsbad’s City Council.
